Just make an FPE for the model leaving the texture= blank And make sure youre entity is set to dynamic in FPSC. Also, I would NEVER recommend using Sketchup with FPSC as it is just not for Game modelling. Sure, use it to make a prototype or concept sketch, but NEVER use it to model for youre game

This info. is also in Nickydude's Community Guide

Cheers,
Anayar

You just copy over an FPE from one of the stock models. I have attached a Blank FPE where you just put in the Name of your model and mesh path in the appropriate places. Make sure the mesh is in the entitybank along with the FPE.

Quote: "i think anayar if i left the texture = blank like that it would be un textured :/ am i right?"

No, Sketchup saves the texture coords onto the model. Just make sure the textures Sketchup exports are in the same folder as your mesh AND FPE.

Quote: "BTW Sketchup is the easiest i have blender it sucks :S"

Actually, Blender as a modelling tool is EXTREMELY powerful... its just that its interface sucks... I mean, IMHO ive never seen worse.

Quote: "i tried 3d world studio it sucks more :S"

Uhh...Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont think 3D World Studio is even for modelling is it?

Quote: "wings3d didnt try it well but didnt like it"

Wings3D is rumored to be extremely easy to learn and use...id give it a second chance if I were you. Trust me when i say that you are not going to get anywhere (in modelling terms) using Sketchup. I made the same mistake as you when I started... Once you get used to the simplicity of Sketchup, it is almost 100x times harder to become familiar with a REAL modelling program.

Quote: "is there anything else ?"

There are thousands more if you cared to look

I use Milkshape, Fragmotion, 3DS Max... these are all extremely powerful tools in their own right, but if you wanted a tool that is most similar to Sketchup youd have to invest in 3DS Max (Just because it also has somewhat of a click and drag interface )

As I said before, My father always used to say: "You can learn from others advice and avoid the many mistakes OR you can do it the way you like and fall into the pitfalls. The wise man chooses the former, but those who choose the latter come out as wise men "

The reason youre model was a dot is because the scale of the model is miniscule... You will need to scale it up in a program OTHER than Sketchup or if you are willing to waste hours of your life, in Sketchup

Cheers,
Anayar

[EDIT] You might want to consider using my Complete Milkshape-FPS tut... Its meant for people like you who want to, but havent worked up the confidence to use a more full-fledged modelling tool. Let me know if you want it early, or if you can wait, it will be released end of the week [/EDIT]

Scroll down about halfway down. I wrote a sketch up tutorial with a slightly older version of the program but it all should still work.

Yes you can, but you will NEVER become a good modeller if you follow that route and might well end up in a lot of trouble when you actually want to make REAL models for games

If you have Milkshape, then just go to the "Scale" option and scale it up a bit. You will have to play with the scale settings. If you are going to use Sketchup, go to scale, choose the entire model, and scale it up a LOT. If you want the scale to be more accurate, use one of the Engineering templates (meters/feet works best).

Well like I said, you can take my advice or leave it... up to you

Oh, and look in the Community Giude for a good Sketchup tutorial by Daarboven...

Milkshape 3D i dont have pro thing i have free trail and it's hard i took 2 hours creating a box and suddenly i found a box creater on the side this made me very disappointed :\

Blender Tough dont know anything in it

Well, if you find it hard to draw a cylinder in Wings3D... which is supposed to be the next best Sketchup alternative for game modelling, well Im afraid your out of luck Maybe you should watch a few tutorials and try a bit harder

Quote: "Milkshape 3D i dont have pro thing i have free trail and it's hard i took 2 hours creating a box and suddenly i found a box creater on the side this made me very disappointed :\"

Uhh mate... theres documentation for a reason. There are also thousands of helpful tutorials if you just search for them, which tells you about MOST of the basic functions of Milkshape. Its your own fault for jumping right in... If i was trying to make a box, and saw a button called "Box", Im quite sure Id click on it and give it a shot

Quote: "Blender Tough dont know anything in it"

Sorry mate, cant help you here. Never liked it, never used it Though it is supposed to be extremely powerful...

Quote: "What i Want Is A Program With An Interface Just Like Sketchup And All It's Tools It's Easier More Than What I Though "

Sorry mate, but modelling programs just dont come with interfaces liek Sketchup's. Sketchup is a prototyping/Conceptualization tool and it reflects that. If you really want to model for video games your going to have to invest the time to learn to use a modelling tool that is meant for video games

Anayar
