Hey guys I'm very new to this forum. If it's not too much trouble to anyone, can someone make a quick texture for me? I would do it myself, but I don't have photoshop or any other texture making program (besides paint...) nor am I talented to do so.

But before I show you a picture of what the texture I want to be is, I want to know if this is the right spot to ask and if not, I'll repost this question to the desired forum.

Again, thank you to anyone who is willing to do it!

Well, technically, this isn't the right spot to ask, but, this is acceptable, considering your new to the forum. what is it do you want a texture of?

Thanks travis. Here's the picture:

I just want the texture of the 'Vine' platform the caterpillars are on. Without the track line in the middle would be nice but it's up to you. Thanks!

erm, yeah, it's a small pic but i see what your talking about, do you have the model your texturing so i can unwrap it then texture it? it will be alot easier on me. If you want me to, i can make the model too.

I actually made it with pieces so i made a straight piece and a curved piece, the picture is here:

The straight piece is like a puzzle so the leaf textures could fit in correctly according to the picture I showed earlier.

I'm making custom content for a game called roller coaster tycoon 3 which explains why the pieces are very simplified due to the fact I need lower poly count so that the game won't crash. There's actually no need to texture the whole model, just the face (top portion) of it is all I need.

If possible, could you export the model and let me UV Map it? This would be much easier.

Do you want it as a .dae type? hahah sorry if that sounded stupid but I actually never exported any model yet so what are the steps to do so so you can UV map it?

Well, you can send it via .skp format, i've got sketchup too.

My Mind is very odd, it can memorize hundreds of commands, memorize 2 dictionary's worth of words, and make detailed 3D models. Yet my mind has trouble with the most simple calculations.

Alright I saved it in .skp format, but then do I share it to you by a hosting website? Sorry for the many questions

It's fine but you can upload it here, just go down to the bar that has a typing box and text beside it that says "Attachment: "
Click "browse" find your file from there and it will upload and you can post it for me to download.

yep, got it.

Now, comparing this to the picture that you have, These shapes don't look anything like the one in the picture that you gave me. How about this, i will edit them to look a bit more like the picture.

Yes, go ahead and edit it but I need it to be a low polygon count since it'll crash the game I'm importing it to (preferably under 100) and don't worry about the reference picture. I just gave you that because I just wanted the texture of it not the shape.

The models I gave you are supposed to be really simplified and puzzle like in a way. But if you're implying about the 'ridges' on the sides, then go edit it to fit the texture, I have no problem with that.

haha I don't know how to explain it well but here's a picture how if all the pieces were puzzled together to resemble like the picture I gave you:

the pieces themselves are made to allow freedom in other Vine Paths but you get the point. Bottom line, go ahead and edit the ridges to fit the texture you're making, but not the entire shape such as the curved piece. THanks a lot man!

Oh and here's a better file than the one I gave you last post.

Oh, ok, i guess that's all i need, sorry for all the questions, it's just i need alot of stuff to give you the texture you want

Oops I forgot to give you the picture on the last post hahah!

Here ya go:

This picture is just using those pieces to recreate a simplified version of the picture I gave to you for reference to the texture I want. The main reason for these pieces is to create a more versatile set for the vine path.

And no problem about the questions! Do whatever you need to fit the texture into the model--just dont change the entire 'shape' of the model if you know what I mean. Thanks travis!

Hold on I got a texture for one of them, but from the looks of that piece, it should fit the whole thing, i'm not entirely sure how i will texture the others though

Hope you like this.

I like it travis thank you! But can you change it a little? Just change the orange to a darker green like in the picture and get rid of the lines on the sides of the orange. And kind of attach the two orange pieces together so they look almost like a 'V'

But I really like it! Thanks!

EDIT: Hey travis, I made a better looking shape for the model:

Is that better?

well, yes, that model looks good, this one, if you could attach it, then i'd gladly texture it real quick

EDIT:
Here, I fixed the problems you listed, anything else you need ,just tell me.

Also, for future reference, look up the Software GIMP, it's pretty much a free version of photoshop, very good for texturing, and also look up Blender, a good 3D modeler, better than sketchup, and use it instead, it's completely free, and is much better than Sketchup for game modeling.

Thanks again! And I have Blender... but I suck at it lol. And I gotta try GIMP since simply asking for a texture is harder than just making it off the bat. And sure, here's the model you can texture it on:

Alright. If you need any help in Blender, i can help you.

EDIT:

I finished it but i don't really blame you if you don't like it.
