The command, 'Set Display Mode' asks for 'Screen Depth'. What is this? Does it need to be changed based on the type of computer and it's display? I usually set it too 64 just because that is my OS bit but I don't even know if it should be at that setting.

Thanks in advance

bits per pixel. I don't think there is a 64 bit pixel format yet. Most common is 32. Just how many colors you want, basically.

Yep, that's the way I understand it too Paradox.

If you right click on your windows screen on nothing but the windows background, pull up properties, then the setttings tab, you'll see what resolution your PC is running in by default... such as 1024x768 for example. Then you'll see the color settings or "color quality" such as 16 bit or most likely it will be 32 bit. I am taking an educated guess that that 32 bit color quality on your PC's video settings is the same as the "screen depth" in DBPro. ..Someone please correct me if I am wrong here.

Hope that helps.

Standard resolutions are 16 and 32-bit depth.

16-bit = 4 bits per colour (16 levels of red, green and blue) plus 4 bits for alpha. This gives 65K possible colours

32-bit = 8 bits per colour (255 levels of red, green and blue) plus 8 bits for alpha. This gives 24M possible colours

...isn't it your screen type?

I have a laptop, my screen depth is very small.

I'm gonna have a carrot now ...

-In.Dev.X: A unique heavy story based shoot'em ~35%
-CoreFleet: An underground commander unit based RTS ~15%
-TailsVSEggman: An Sonic themed RTS under development for idea presentation to Sega ~15%

BatVink is right. For more information about color depth, you can read on Wikipedia.
