Cheers.

Same here. I started with Paint.NET though before because the site I tried to get Gimp from was difficult and I saw Paint.Net and was happy for awhile until I found out about all of Gimp's amazing features...

Cheers.

I'm not sure where you heard this, but it is not true. It has many, many uses. It is very commonly used for game art, and it is one of its primary functions. It is also used for 3d videos, and many other features are tailored to misc. uses. But game art is easily its most common use.

Blender can be used for game modelling or video rendering, whatever you want.

Once in game the 2 objects will look pretty much the same unless you used some other tools on it - Blender has more tools than other free programs. - The one taken in Blender has more polygons than the one in Wings 3D, but that can be adjusted with any program.

Try out both programs, read/watch some tutorials and choose what program you wish to use. The model quality comes from the artist, not the program.

Wings3D if you want easier work, blender if you want harder and may be better work

it just depend on the modeller him self not the program he uses
