I have seen many requests on the forums asking for huds how to put huds in fpsc etc etc. I think there should be a program that makes a script like a trigger zone or something. Something like that would be amazing... As long as you have the hud made... Oh it also puts the files where ever they have to go.

This type of tool is not difficult to make. My issue is that working with Visual Basic, I don't have the ability to work with DDS and TGA file types, only PNG. While PNG will work fine for HUDS (better and easier than DDS if you ask me) it severely limits the available image types you could use and benefit of using an easy program is outweighed by having to convert file types. It would be better if someone wrote it in DBPro.

One of the applets I have going in the coding phase here is working with PNG. I'm using Visual Basic as well for it.

I was looking at coding a "converter" to change the hud to another format and see what the viability was. For now mine just keeps everything in PNG (for size required) as we've discussed before.

So you are using Visual Basic! I knew it I thought i was the only one..

@Slayer267 - Get Paint.NET from Here
This program let's you open and save images in .dds. It is pretty much a less complicated version of Photoshop.. Hope this helps!

You can get the DDS plugin for Photoshop, and even open DDS files in Photoshop.

In case you need the link, it is here.

the programm you all ask for is already made by our beloved DOOMSTER back in 2009 (i think), called "CRTHUD".

make a png and load it up, does transformings to the needed tga/dds in the propper folder (gamecore/huds) and writes the trigger-fpi for triggerzone, permanent standard-hud etc.

great little prog, i thought most of you know it. search for it in forum-search, its out there anywhere

EDIT:
ah, here it is:

I wanted to check it out, but I'm afraid to download it. The first time I clicked the link I was redirected and got a pop-up. The second time it went to a third party download page, I had to wait for a timer to finish (forced waiting period to try to make you read all the ads)and then the download file name did not match the name of the program so I canceled. WOW! No wonder no one has heard of it. LOL. There are better ways to offer your software/content, even for free.

Brian.

maho76 accidentally posted an url that is no longer available.

Newest available version is here:

@xplosys: I'm afraid that I can't tell you what kinda problem you encountered - especially since the link maho76 provided should, normally, only contain a "404" error page from the webspace provider.

Doomster,

I don't know either. Maybe that's why the file name didn't match!

Anyway, I got it and I'll check it out. Thanks.

wooah, If you have a x64 version of photoshop (aka CS5 only I think) you need to install that plugin to you're x32 version, then open the x32 version of photoshop.
