What do you mean the "number"? As I know, there is not any good resource number or polygon number in fps creator, because the number depends on the computer's quanlity I think.

He's talking about the bars.

The 60 you see is probably Frames per Second. 60 is the highest you can get in FPS Creator, while 30 is about the limit for smooth gameplay.

thanks for the reply guys

ive been searching for more info about game optimazation
and i found that yes 30 is a good fps rate .. so i was checking out and i was going to take a screen shot to show my monitor number

mine does say 60, but it say 60 for even an empt room
so that didnt seem right .. anyways i was getting the screen shot and i noticed that while pressing "print screen" my fps number dropped down to 22 - 28 ..

How do i find out which number is correct

also seeking more optimazation / level layout info

It really does depend on yours (or maybe more importantly your audience's) computers. On my laptop (quad core with Intel GMA graphics) if I have 75000-100000 poly's I start slowing down and I can forget about any type of large outdoor maps. However, on my desktop (I7, 1 gig dedicated video), I am working on an outdoor level for the Defy The Odds Compo. It takes up the entire 40 x 40 grid with over 200000 ploy's, water, decals, particle effects, and 15 characters walking around and I don't drop below 57 frames. However, I know that most off the shelf BestBuy/Walmart computers these days are not pushing the gaming rig type stats. So if I was looking for commercial sales, I would need to tone it down a bit. My goal would be to not drop below 30 frames per second on any modern machine (except those with Intel GMA graphics, they are tooooooooooo weak).

If your topping out at 60 fps, you are probably hitting your monitors refresh rate. If your monitor is a 60Hz, you can hit 60 fps, if you have 120Hz, 120 fps, etc.
