I was looking on the internet for a brushed metal texture that I could use, but all of the ones I found had a gradient of light to them and I wanted a uniform light pattern. So I decided to try a hand at making my own from scratch.

I opened up a new Photoshop file, added noise until it was a little darker than I wanted, then did a Gaussian Blur followed by a Motion Blur, and this was the result:

Oh, and I forgot to add... When opening the new image, make it at least 1.5 times larger than the final product. The borders of the image are going to be a lot whiter than the middle because of the motion blur. So I created an 800x800 image, made the texture, then set the canvas size to 512x512 to get the final product.

And if anyone needs to use a metallic texture in anything, you're free to use mine if you wish.
