Hi
I was wondering how many layers should be in a level?
THanks

I'm trying to do a 3D Diablo type game using guns instead swords.
Thats why I asked. It seems to me that it might have trouble loading that many layers. Do you have any input for me for my game?
I could use any help.
Thanks
Riccetts

you mean how many levels in y-coord to use? well,.... 20.^^

its not about the levels, you can build a 20-levels/layer tower with 60fps. its all about the polys > you cant fill 20 height-levels full with segments and entities on 20x20 x/z-axis.

What maho said; it's not the layers, it's the polys. In my game I have a single layer map that is resource intensive, just because of the amount of detail in it. I also have a map with several layers that chugs along nicely because it doesn't have as much detail in it!
