Hello again.

I would like to ask , if the games I create , works with windows 7.

Some people says my games don't work in windows 7 and others says they work.

I found here one computer with windows 7 and I tried to compile my game and didn't run.

Do you know how to fix the compatibility issues with windows 7?

You need to install update 7.7 for your application to support Windows 7 SP1:

I have 7.5 , if I will upgrade to 7.7 do I need to make changes in my code?
I avoid to make upgrades often , because sometimes, some commands changes and then I need to change all of my code.

I made the upgrade and now my game don't run.
In version 7.5 one false parameter error window was appeared.
Now no error window is appears and the program don't start.

I tried to run it with right mouse button , run as administrator and the program didn't start and no error.

Any suggestions?

Run the windows 7 compiled version or darkbasic 7.7 compiled version from here and tell me if was run in your windows 7.

Hey Takis76! I thought I was the only Greek in the Forum.

I also have compatibility problems when running my game on windows 7 64. Did the upgrade helped solving the problems? If it did, then I will upgrade my version of DBPro immediately. Did you also had to change a lot of your code when you installed the new version?

The newest upgrade was fixed the issues of my game compatibility in windows 7.
The problem reduced. There are still people in other forums who, complain about my game is not running to their computers, but these people are fewer now than before.

What game are you making Dimis? Is your name from Dimitris?

Hi Taki!

I upgraded my version of dbpro and recompiled my game. My new demo now works with windows 7 and nobody complained so far about compatibility issues. I hope that upgrade has fixed every problem there was.

My game is a beat'em up, Mortal Kombat style.

Windows 7 has some problems regarding security and file access rights for DBPro. I've never had a problem with anything else and I've run both x86 Win7 Ultimate and x64 Win7 Home Premium. One thing I have noted is that some users reported a DirectX error (d3dx9_31.dll mia). So I just included it with all the latest versions of my apps.

More importantly, tell your users to disable their firewalls/AVs/etc security during both installation and use. This may (hopefully) solve the remaining few problems.
