Where is the information on how to compile a dll for a user command set? I cannot find this information. I have lots of DLL's that would be useful, that I can recompile, but cannot get any of them to return proper values under current compilation. I see people writing dll's but, where is the information. Step by Step?

Thanks

What about calling standard windows dll from within darkbasicpro, I don't have much time to read cause I'm a Trucker now, how to pass and receive information back and forth without the darkbasic version of dll. I think when I bought the product, it advertised this was possible. Am I wrong? Please help me and I will contribute a cool dll to the community.

You can call the usual Windows commands if they dont require callbacks (ruling out a fair few commands to control windows). You can also (with a bit of fiddling) call functions that require addresses of structures.

I can pass informatin to a dll but I can't get it to return it to dbpro. I am feeling dumb, it should be simple. I should be able to pass information to and from dbpro just as in c++ but I can't get it to work.

When the .dll returns a value:

return_val=call dll(dll#,parameters)

When it doesn't:

call dll dll#,parameters

Is that what you mean?

"That's not a bug, it's a feature!"
"Variables won't, constants aren't."

No, I wan't to compile my windows dll to make window funtions for darkbasicpro.(Free addon of course). Here I have made this .exe to show my window funtions within my dll with c++, but to no avail get nothing to funtion from darkbasic with standard dll calls. I don't want to go thru all the command resource stuff until I get it to work.
