First Person Shooter Creator Media Collection Series
FPSCMCS
(epic acronym)

This is basically a thread for me to post wip screens of my new media projects. I have 3 designed atm, with 50-100 models each...should be an interesting ride.

MCS Projects:
I) The Graveyard
II) Displacement Field Arena
III) Mecha

The Graveyard Preview
- Coffin Entities -

- Outer Wall Entities -

Please feel free to comment about any aspect, ask questions and above all make suggestions for model inclusions in the packs. Thank you.

The Fox's like this...

Great work. We have nothing but praise with your work. As a matter of fact, you and a couple of other artists are the reason BlueFox makes media now.

Looking forward to seeing this progress.

Spiffy! Perhaps a crypt or a catacomb wall segment?? That'd be epic.

You should have a variation of one of those graves, where it has been dug out, but not filled in with dirt.

The titan weapons are basically epic weapons for FPSC. I have 5 planned out. Just think Nightmare's Soul Edge as a usable FPSC weapon.

Decided to make a quick video of everything finished so far. Notice my epic attempt at splicing Fraps free recorded vids. HD available, though the quality still didn't come out like I wanted, must be the encoder.

great work I love what your doing here!

You screenshots and video would benefit from a lighting that gives a nighttime atmosphere. Play with a grey-ish blue light to see how you like it?

I'm waiting until I have the skybox done before I mess around with lighting. Also have lanterns and torches planned for inclusion. Maybe next update.

This looks excellent Josh! May be some spiders webs to hang in the corners / off objects or how about piles of bones?

I'm keeping an eye on these...

Really nice models you got going on here. I especially like the walls surrounding the graveyard. An eerie nighttime skybox and
a hint of ground fog, would make a creepy atmosphere in a game.

Update 5: 3 entities

- Light Post -

- Graveyard Shotgun Video (messing around) -

Getting close to the end. All that's left is a set of fence pieces with gates, the main tomb entrance, and catacombs tunnel segments. Oh, and a wrapped up dead body...and skybox...and crypt keeper tools, and shack..maybe an outhouse...so, maybe almost done half way? Because of this I'm asking for three testers for feedback and or bug reports. One person(couple) I've already chosen so two spots are open.

Thanks for volunteering Fuzz, I'll add you to the list. One more spot open everyone.

I'll be creating a manual for using the Graveyard media. Some of them are separate pieces or prefabs with several variations, so to avoid confusion I think a manual is in order.

So I estimate 3-4 more days before I can wrap this up and send it to the testers. Give them a bit of time to get some feedback together so I can release it by the end of August. Cutting it close. :p

Edit: 3rd position filled for tester. Thanks everyone for applying.

One more issue for everyone to debate;

I plan to sell this pack, but in a different sort of way. I was thinking of adopting a 'F2P MMO' approach to selling. I offer a free version, which will include most of the content with one variation of each. Then there'll be a paid version that will include all the assets with all variations and free future updates(I plan to make all of them shader ready, which they currently are setup for).

Just want to know your thoughts on this, if you think it is something anyone would be interested in or just a waist of time. Be honest.

In the end, it might just go all free anyway...I'm a sucker for giving out stuff for free just because.

Thanks for letting me test.

If the extra assets were sold on the store, I think that it would be a great idea.

Yeah the lighting is definitely helping the atmosphere a lot

I understood what you were saying previously - just noting its nice to see it coming together with the lighting.

Update 7: 1 Entity

- Wrapped Body -

Small update, don't usually work on weekends but was bored this morning so another model checked off the list.

bluefox:
Lol, tell me about it. I'm going for the scare factor here.

uzi idiot:
That game was an influence for the grungy style. It's also one of my favorite mindless shooting games.

erevusman:
Thanks, gonna work on the skybox next.

It's work kick butt time...made 10 more entity designs on top of my 30 yet finished not including the 20-25 segments sections I've designed for the catacombs. My personal deadline is set for this Friday. Then I'm throwing these at my testers and giving them until next Weds to find any buggers.

So updating as things get finished.

Update 9: 9 Entities

- Variations in Lamp Color -

- Work Table 1 -

- Work Table Set 1 -

- Work Table Destroyed -

- Tomb Wip -
This is a very much wip tomb entrance. I plan to add optional columns and roof, or a set of decorative iron torch stands to create some ominous scenery. Texture still wip also.

After doing the tomb model I've come to realize the wall isn't high enough, so I'll be editing that so that you can't jump over.

As always, you can visit my site to view the updates faster and all images are on the front page; http://www.jlmoondog.com
