Is this somekind of a sick joke :\ well you know in the WIP section I think it goes like this some one come and say (Yeah finally I made my game see the WIP guys ) and then we watch the trailer and the screenies and everything then when it comes to the time of showing it Hush!! nothing happens XD he Disappeared suddenly OMG !

there is about 90,000 post in the WIP section that is not needed or used anymore or maybe just a fake WIP

No offense

Cheers,

I guess the first column is the thread count, if that's right, than this is the relevant number so we would have only 2.800+ WIPs with no follow up game not 90.000+

But even then your assumption is not completely correct, because I allready have collected 140+ playable levels - and with only 113 Showcase threads that means, that there have to be some playable levels posted on the WIP board too.

But you are right, there is a kind of misproportion.

94 494 / 2867 ~ 33
4610 / 113 ~ 41 Average post count per thread.
This isn't a balanced equation,obviously.

Sure, the showcase should have a lot more comments, but you can't expect it to have as many threads as the W.I.P.And be honest, how many actually good looking games do you see in W.I.P?
How many projects get abandoned and are vaporware?

Generic scenario :
Person X comes up with idea Y.
Person X starts making his game in FPSC.
Person X realizes he hasn't thought through everything/can't make all the required media/doesn't have time to finish the project/loses interest.
Person X abandons the project.

In some cases this process is looped.

Actually when the showcase board rules changed with a stricter posting policy a lot of games were moved to the WIP board since thay didnt meet the rules for posting there.
Even finished games which might have been fine for the new showcase were moved for not meeting the layout required, when this was fixed by the OP these games were moved back to the showcase (some couldnt bothered or werent around anymore)thats why there are so few posts in Showcase(make sense?).

Yeah, it might appear at first sight that its always been that way but as I said there are many older games buried in WIP that could be in showcase if they were just updated to meet the newer rules.
There were also many games moved to WIP that should never have been in Showcase in the first place its the reason the rules were made clearer and stricter, its all much tidier this way.
In fact its all fuzzy in my old memory and it may be that WIP is actually the old Showcase renamed and only the games that met the rules were moved to the Showcase....something like that...

Yes; as was explained in another thread like this, the "new" WIP Board is actually the "old" Showcase Board. That's why there's a discrepancy there.
