Hey guys,

I have been having this problem for awhile now, FPSC lighting seems to be messing up. Some entities and segments light up really bright even with no lights, or the light ambiance is low. I have attached a picture. It's really odd and frustrating. The floor is rolfy's terrain pack, and as you can see, only one part lights up. The rock lights up, and then the bush lights up. Any help would be awesome.

**Edit**
This picture was taken with shaders off. With shaders on it worsens. The floor does not have a texture at all and almost everything gets lit.

Do your entities use any kind of shaders?

Please post your setup.ini.

Hey wolf, nope no Shaders, these are official model pack entities. The floor segments are rolfy's. This pic was taken with Shaders off. It also happens with shaders on to.

Here is my setup.ini

I take it this is the environment pack, this worked fine for you before right?
If your placeing a single light high up then your going to have all sorts of issues with lightmap settings your using over such a large area.

lightmaptexsize=256
lightmapquality=20

You need to increase these settings for a start.

Delete all bin and dbo files and place the terrain prefab again with some lighting, no shaders, before placing any entity's.
Using a single light to fake sunlight is actually not a good idea (unless your willing to use very high settings in your setup.ini),you should also place some smaller range lights around the scene as well.

Hey rolfy, long time no talk, I deleted all my bin and dbo files. I also deleted the one large light in the map. Re-ran it, and I still get the same problem.

Create a completely new map, sounds like your saying you just deleted the one light, that wont work.
If this doesn't fix your problem I cant help as I haven't ran into this myself.

I deleted every light source. There are no lights in the current map, static or dynamic. There should be no reason that anything is lighting up like that. There is no way it could with the ambiance low and no lights.

Once more....create an entirely NEW map.
Delete bin and dbo files, plsce the terrain prefab in the map, test it without lighting, then test it with lighting (not a single huge range light).
If all is fine go back and reload your original map.

Hey rolfy, made a totally new map with no lights. Just using your terrain. Same thing. However I notices that it seems to only highlight the outer pieces of the terrain and not the middle. It's weird.

What version FPSC your using?
Have you changed the textures in any way?
Which terrain are you using?

I've got the same problem, it's weird. had it since V116 IIRC...

For me it goes and comes, for the most part it only happened in test mode but when it's built, it seems to work. But this only happens I would say 80% of the time but not always for me...

Saving up for my new gaming rig !

Hmm off 4125.

@Rolfy I am using the latest 1.18 downloaded from TGC's site. I have not touched the texture in anyway shape or form. This happens to all of them it looks like rolfy, I have tested with sunset and with fantasy.

Take a look in
Files\texturebank\rolfy\terrains
and see if all textures are there...should be four of 'em.

I am using v1.18 myself and have no problems.

Shut down FPSC
To be sure all bin and dbo files are being deleted go into
Files\segments\rolfy\moonrise
Files\segments\rolfy\sunset
Files\segments\rolfy\space
Files\segments\rolfy\mistybay

Open FPSC and load the file Files\mapbank\rolfy\sunset_lit.fpm......
I have attached the map file in case you dont have it.

Turn off shaders and test.

Did all that, loaded the new map. Still the same thing. Except I turned ambiance all the way down and it no longer lights up if the ambiance is at 0 but look at the texture distortion. It's really annoying, I have no idea why this is happening.

If the ambiance is at 100% those parts are completely white.
