I've finished making my FPSC ready Grandfather Clock model. I've also finished animating the swinging pendulum.

However, I don't know how to set the animation up in the model's .fpe file.

What animation numbers do I assign it in the .fpe file (and why, so that I learn as much as possible!)?

I've also noticed in bond1's animated security camera, that there is a .fpk file. I'm guessing this is an exported animation file. If so, how do I export this file?

Do I need to learn how to use Blender after all (when I previously thought that Milkshape would serve all my needs)?!!

Its a bit hard to explain... maybe take a look at this thread by storyteller; has some good info. relevant to this topic

Also, Try going to the scripts board and doing a search for "animation" and setting the param. to- "Just this board"

Cheers,

Thanks, but it's not really a problem with the .fpi script I'm having.

It's what numbers to use, and why, in the model's .fpe file that I need help with, which is why I posted in the models and media section.

I already tried searching for 'animating' and animations', but none of the answers were what I needed

Well, here goes. This should be specific to your pendulum thingy ONLY and assuming the it rocks right & left in one continuous loop (without stopping back at the midpoint).

First you add this little bit to your FPE (somewhere at the bottom);
;Animationinfo
anim1= startframe#,endframe#

Alright, so your wondering what the startframe#,endframe# is right?
Well basically, the startframe#= the animation frame at which the swinging animation starts. For example, the VERY beginning of its swing.
And so obviously, the endframe# is the animation frame number at the VERY end of the swing, when the pendulum comes back into place.

Now the other bolded thing; I put anim1 there because FPSC by default plays the anim listed under anim1. That way you dont have to fiddle around with scripts and the such (atleast I dont think you do).

Anyways, thats the basic's of it. Take my words with a pinch of salt as I cant 100% confirm everything Ive typed is true. Give it a shot anyways and let me know what happens. And hop on MSN when you can

Cheers,
Anayar
