A new download is available within your order history named: App Game Kit - iOS Interpreter with AdMob. This project demonstrates the integration of AdMob into the Tier 1 iOS player app.

Some notes:

* The AdMob integration takes place within the ViewController source files.

* Check viewDidLoad for details on advert positioning and requests. Make sure you fill in your adUnitID so that you can receive adverts.

* updateRotation is called when the device's orientation changes. The code within here will rotate, but only deals with landscape positioning.

* drawView is responsible for updating the screen. The visibility of sprite 999 determines whether adverts should be visible or invisible. It's an easy workaround for communicating between the Tier 1 script and this project.

This is great for any free games I will publish. Also for when you want to publish 2 versions of the game, a free version with AdMob ads and a paid version without ads and more features.

We feel advertising in free apps is vital for your monetisation strategy, whether you publish through TGC or not.

What kind of revenue can one expect from advertising?
Last time I checked, one had to gather 2 million ad views to get $1 compensation

You can ad your own ads right now with Tier 2 and a Mac. For T1 users, you'll need to wait until we've finished and tested our ad component which allows you to specify a rectangle and get ads streamed into it. Revenue from adverts entirely depends on user hits, which is mainly based on the popularity of your free app. Even the 'amusing fart' apps can generate substantial revenues if you are in the right place at the right time. If you use TGC to publish, we add all advertising revenue to direct sales revenue and give you 70% of the total.

It's not possible to take the image and pass it over to AppGameKit as an image or sprite (at least with the current command set). Not sure it's a good idea anyway, better to let the AdMob SDK handle the drawing.

This is probably the wrong place to post
But anyway, from what I heard the AppGameKit player was rejected but TGC stated that they have a plan B wich will be revealed in a few weeks...

We don't recommend you jail break your device. We are still working through the technical hurdles Apple has lovingly placed in front of us, and we should have something nice and approvable soon enough In the meantime, you'll have some time to learn AppGameKit and create some cool test apps. When you get the AppGameKit Player, you'll have something neat to send to your favourite iOS devices

As of September 1st, AdMob is now integrated into Google AdSense. I think this is a damn good move, support for AdMob has been horrendous (especially the complete lack of delivery of ads for new accounts, and no explanation from AdMob for over 6 months). AdSense its reliable from the first day you implement it.

The only issue is, this component may need updating to the AdSense version of AdMob by the end of this month.
