Not sure how many people already know this... my guess is atleast half of this forum has already seen it.

However Friday (here atleast) sees the release of Final Fantasy XI - Online for Windows.
The game quite arguably boasts the best god damn realtime graphics i've seen to date - anyone who's downloaded the benchmark over the past month (who has GF3/4/FX or Radeon 9x00 series) will be able to testify that it is one damn graphically impressive title.

When i get home i'll grab some current screenshots of it... certainly one impressive title and well work checking out

I take it back. There might be one on-line game that I'd be willing to pay a monthly fee for

should do... just about runs on my Duron800mhz 256mb sdram w/GFFX5200 64mb - doesn't run grand when you have like 35 of those little beasties onscreen, crawls at around 2-3fps... but when your just walking around with only a matter of 10-12players onscreen at once or less it runs at a decent 20-25fps

playable, but not exactly fantastic lol oddly runs faster with AF8x that without any on. God knows why.

The accounts can be signed up anywhere in the world... i think its a purely american/canadian release atm simply because this is where thier main servers are.
As soon as som europeans servers are up wouldn't doubt it got back to the UK, but knowing Enix & Sony my bets would be on 3months time

PS2 version is due for a world wide release apartently, but I not sure becuase i can't find any informatino about it other than it'll work on the same servers.

The game is the most expensive MMO i've seen in a while though.
$45 for the game, $12/month ... $1/registered name

compaired to TheSimsOnline which is $50 inlcuding 3months free + $10/month per account (which can have upto 3 characters). But the Accounts cover all thier online games.

Sims Online. Ach. Now there is a game I think might honestly be as stupid as this thing . 'Welcome to an annoyingly partitioned chat system with a lot of really dumb people playing!' Aieeee.

The only thing that lets TheSimsOnline down (or was when i used to play it) was the lack of a chatwindow... so you miss what someone said or say something else quickly and its gone forever.
but aparently they added one recently with the casino updates...
But i didn't bother renewing my subs for it cause i just never had the time to get on. Pitty cause it was fun - especially the challenges we used to set each other.

Favourite still has to be the "lets see who can bed 50 people first" when the lovebed was first out. Hehee, I ended up with 43 within 3days before my mate got all 50 ... reckon my guy needed to show more skin, i'm sure thats why she beat me
