Hey all!

I was wondering what the laws are in the US (and other countries as well) for creating a game for commercial purposes (that is, to be sold for profit) that uses Windows Fonts. I'd be using the TEXT commands in DBPro to load up the fonts and use them.

I just don't want to use them and be bit in the ass later for it.

Thanks!

Here is Microsoft's stance.

Fonts
Use the free Font properties extension to determine who owns a font that Microsoft distributes. A number of Microsoft fonts may be licensed from Ascender Corporation. These include Verdana, Georgia, Comic Sans MS, Microsoft Sans Serif, Nina, Tahoma, Wingdings, Webdings, and Trebuchet MS. For more information regarding fonts, and for links to font vendors, visit the Microsoft Typography Web site.

Your signature has been erased by a mod please reduce it to 600 x 120.

Thanks, but what I'm trying to figure out is I don't think the executables include the fonts, do they? Also, I tried opening up the font and the window won't stretch any more so I can't read the license agreements. I'm mainly looking at using the Terminal font.

Anyway, if they are Microsoft fonts they will already be on everyone's computer, so you don't need to attach them. If a font is already on their computer you can't get in trouble.
