Newcomers DBPro Corner / wont show sprite

so iv been toying around with db pro and iv run into a bit of a rut. i cant for the life of me get my sprite to show up. i originally planned on making an animated sprite but at the moment i just want to see it.

heres my code:


anybody have any idea why this isn't working? the .bmp is in the same folder as the darkbasic file i have saved, and iv checked the names they match.

Are you sure "runner.bmp" file is not corrupt?

EDIT:

I made my own "runner.bmp" file and it worked fine.

yes. i tested it out by creating a few new bitmaps. still not working. i tested same code with same image on darkbasic classic so now im starting to move towards its my computer. which is a:

windows vista 64 bit

Do you have the most current version of DirectX (9.0c I think) installed? Here is a link for Vista related issues:

I didn't see anything wrong with the code, but you could try this.



If that doesn't work you could try this.


And if that doesn't work you should update to the latest version of DirectX.
Or you could try this.


And if that doesn't work.... I don't know???

It might be your version of DBP.

Older versions of DBP do not work on vista, at least not any of the cool stuff.
Such as 3D, sprites, and just about anything graphic.
