Is there a way to paint an entity with the texture of a room? I want to create entites that blend in with the room this way.

Yes.
Just change the texture when you right-click the entity to the one of the wall.

all wall textures are located within the texturebank. so... if you are using lets say the ww2 Bunker Fighting Area Low well then you will go to texturebank\ww2\walls\concrete and search for the texture in that area. or for an exact one. Open the .fps file in notepad, or fpi editpad, and go down to the block of text that says partmode1 = 0. Then look at the texture section within that block of text and chose the _D2 texture.
