Wow, that's impressive! Just one question, didn't Sprite Pack have ocean?

Anyway, keep up with good work, me like it!

Thats right but the SP ocean comes as a 3x3 segments wide decal. In fact the SP ocean is very well done but a lot of work to place and of course it has no depth

Obviously I should have mentioned that this ocean decal is kind of seamless (all decals have to be palced with the same orientation)and therefore cou can fill the whole map with it - but still its tedious to do so AND if cou want to change its height you can only do this in the .fpe

very very nice, spudnick. great work.

what about performance in combination with npc-entities? the stockwater of v1.18 also looks nice, but eats more than 10frames when a npc is nearby and reflected. 3 npc and you cant get over 20fps as far as i know through testing.
better with your shader/system?
would be great, i like to get water into some levels of my game, but atm its not doable because of the performance reduction. would only be a slight waterlevel as a mirror on the ground, so no need of swimming.

nice offer, spudnick. thx, i am on the wrong machine atm, but i will give you my specs (not the badest pc i ever had, new 6x2,8 amd, 4gb ram, 10k-hd and ati-card ... 5770 i think, gpu-drivers up to date).
got deus ex 3 last week, and it doesnt run very smooth, so could be.

i have to say that it was an (X20 x Z20 x Y13) outdoor level with about 150.000 polys, 2 npc on waterheight and some falling rocks in it as entities: 20 fps with map flooded, 40-50fps dry. full bloom, fog, water and normal lightmapping, stock-media.

but also your video shows an outdoor-map, so thats why i am asking.

i have to look if the map is still there.

average fps on my actual is 40-60 without npc down to 19, but with 8+ npcs in front, so that works fine. also using statics instead of walls, but i cant model, thats my big problem for cleaning my levels up. i will learn, but that needs some time

i dont use inv.walls because of the size of the level (full map, also in heights), this will raise the polies too much. instead using this method to get open outdoors that large done:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=186092&b=21
if i miss something talking about npc/(water)shaders,portals and invisible elements, please tell me. no one else can, also in the actual threads about this.

tomorrow i will send you a basic version of my actuall level with scripts&files (original dry) with water included if you are interested in testing.
there is much altered stock media in it,so dont wonder if it doesnt look as mentioned on your system^^
it also works with the trick above, so i have to send it with the revised fpes.

thx for this, spudnick. and would be great if you will flood the world with your ocean for us.

Really impressive work as usual spudnick. What is the water color if you don't mind me asking? like what is the setting you have for the color of the water.

Hi spudnick,
Is it possible to do a fountain, small, medium large that way the player could regain health when he goes near it (HEAL ZONE) and it would be more practical and add gameplay?

A nice round fantasy pool that could fit in a fountain with different sizes?

Just a thought

Great stuff tho

Hi spudnick,
Yes this is great! a small wall fountain would be good also......

Any chance you could do a few variations (I have the metro theatre pack), I need fantasy/medievil fountains with this look one large one (like you did in the video) and a smaller wall fountain the player could drink out of.

I would pay for them!

love these sorts of waterplays, absolute best (because enormous) is the base and park of hercules-monument, germany.

some inspirations:

dont underestimate yourself, buddy. YOU ARE REALLY GOOD! havent to be a single-model. do a waterpillar and a bow in addition to your model, and with resizing you can create all that stuff easily.

you do great works here, spudnick.
