Dear all,

I can't figure out why this code isn't working.

+ Code Snippet

set display mode 640,480,32

'create shape
circle 50,50,20
line 30,50,70,50
line 50,30,50,70

'grab the image
get image 1,30,30,71,71,1

'use it as a sprite
sprite 1,50,50,1

for f=1 to 20
    paste sprite 1,rnd(600),rnd(440)
    wait 500
next

wait key
end

The sprite seems to flash for an instant at random places, but... I don't know. I have a feeling it has something to do SYNC but I'm not sure.

Any pointers?

You're not actually using SYNC. When you don't have SYNC ON it automatically updates anytime there's any drawing to the screen... but because you're using a SPRITE the blue background shows up and clears anything that you pasted. Once you actually turn on SYNC you'll see it.

` Hide the mouse
hide mouse

 ` Show the sprite at the mouse coordintes
 sprite 1,mousex(),mousey(),1
 
 ` Paste the sprite 20 times in random locations
 for f=1 to 20
    paste sprite 1,rnd(600),rnd(440)
    `wait 500
 next

 ` Update the screen
 sync
