There is a discontinued and buggy (but working nonetheless) feature in FPSC...

Real time shadows!

A screenshot doesnt really say much about real time dynamic shadows.
As far as it goes what you have there is a poor version of static lighting.
Real time shadows need to be shown in a video, using an animated moving dynamic entity which shows moving shadows (ceiling fan or such like), otherwise its not realtime shadows.
If you can show it in action I would be very impressed.

Just putting this out there:
I take no credit for this feature, I merely stumbled upon it.

I'm pretty sure everybody knows about this already.
It's an extremely buggy feature. Which is why it isn't used.

I wasn't aware that it was working in vanilla, though I've seen it done by rolfy and someone else I think has a MOD for it.

I am also waiting for the video.

Brian.

I have seen this sort of thing in FPSC before where someone did it with a few boxes. The problem is it only works for dynamic entity's that are not animated, the shadow cast by an animated fan or character for example is fixed. It will move around with the object if you move it as shown in your video but in parts of the object that are moving (as in say fan blades, arms or legs) there will not be dynamic shadows. Which is why I said above:
Quote: "Real time shadows need to be shown in a video, using an animated moving dynamic entity which shows moving shadows (ceiling fan or such like)"

I dont mean to be nit picky or anything just reckon we've been confusing each other I think.
I had actually thought that since it had been discontinued as a feature it was completely removed.

Well done anyhow, nice example....I am impressed

The only problem is that it appears to be projecting the shadow on top of the model itself too.

These are the standard DarkBasic Pro shadows, which produce a huge performance drop when used in a "normal" level (even in DBP itself).
Also they are not rendered correctly and have all sorts of problems in FPSC (for example casting through objects onto the floor under it).

I would rather stop using them and stick to good static lightmapping. Because they could ruin your whole game.
