I don't know where it would be at but the kinect source code has been released as open source for developers. You could always play around with it.

Seeing as there's literally TONS of important things that need to be put in FPSC...

I doubt they will add kinect support

I don't think fps creator would be responsive enough to warrant having it done, and there is a SDK kinnect

i would rather spend time making games that can use the Asus Xtion Pro

Kinect has so many dependencies it would not be possible just to build it into FPSC, it would also require to be written into DB Pro. It would then require Windows 7 and DotNet 4 to run your FPSC game.

It will blow your FPSC up... Or the minds of the people having to redo it all in DB pro.... or... It will just blow up DB Pro..... some where around those is what will happen.

@SonOfLight
you must have a lot of experiance in things going Kaboom from the sounds of it

Any way i have got mine ordered from asus for cristmas, anlong with some nifty 50" simulated glasses to play my latest games on

And so it may be the case of tweeking the provided Motion sensor software that comes with it.

And so the Xtion Pro motion sensor is available to by fo the PC and is lot more advanced

It would be awesome to make a rise of nightmares styled game. Yet I don't have a kinect so I don't know how Rise of nightmares is like exactly. But you can manually move by putting your leg forward.

"Regular Price: FPSC = $49.99,
Bonanza Price: FPSC + Model Pack(s) 1, 3, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 25 = $29.99!" EPIC! Too awesome for words anyway... =D

i think the real problem here is that kinect and 1st person shooters will never work, how in gods name could you move around and what happens when you turn? youd be nolonger facing the tv. the only way is ala time crisis which in my mind was rubbish

hmmmm...signature....let me think..............no i can't come up with anything funny.

Actually, it's possible to do right now without MODing FPSC at all. There is an open source tool kit built by folks at the Institute for Creative Technologies at the University of Southern California. It allows you to map motions to keystrokes and mouse controls.

I have actually used it with FPSC before though did not spend much time trying to tweak it. It is used in second life and in world of warcraft.

Also, it's not impossible to control a first person shooter this way. But you must be creative in how you set both the sensitivity of the Kinect and how you set up your FPSC game.

You can constrain it to only control forward and back motion or you might use it to only control orientation. Given that scripts can make use of where the "mouse" is pointing, mouse clicks, and other things, a little bit of creativity could go a long way towards making something unique.

If I had time to actually be playful these days, I would continue to explore it but I probably won't until after the new year.

Anyway...everything you need to make it work is already available and it does not require any modification of the FPSC source.
