Is there another way to change the color of text without affecting the overall frame rate?

By reducing the amount of times in loops for changing the ink does help but unfortunately that doesn't usually help in most cases when plotting random colours.

Did you also use Lock Pixels and Unlock Pixels before and after your drawing operations?

What are you doing? There will be a better way if we know the desired result. The better way will most probably involve Advanced 2D from Diggsey.
