Game name: The Operator
Developer: Shypaw

Story:

Ten years from the time a leader, and a dictator Tseloskov died by the
hands of an USA rebels commander Maxwell.
23 years from the time president John Eric Redwood died by the attack of
the Red Planet organization, leaded by Tseloskov..
..and 30 years from the time everything was still calm before the hell.

Maxwell was looking out of the window on a Motel. He was despressed.
Slaying the commander of the Red Planet, and freeing the world from his
chains.. Still a lot of friends, and family was lost those days.
The Red Planet organization simply put world under their command, and
no-one was left alive. The propaganda was so harsh..
He had to do it, but just how many people was lost.. no-one can't even
count.
That day was just surreal. He, facing the coward dictator with a
barrel in his head. Just thinking of it gives the chills still.

Rebels had builded a new start in heart of Los Angeles. They are leaded
by a fame obsessed war veteran Ray Field. One who was once the best
friend of Maxwell back in the times in U.S Army.
He's not real leader. Just a commander of a little group trying to keep
the order up, still helping only rich folks to have a new start..

Maxwell turned his head away from the window. He looked up the calendar.
It was his 47th birthday.
"Damn, i feel old.." he whispered himself.

His phone started ringing.
".. what is it?" Maxwell answered quick.
"We have a little mission for you. Intrested?"
"I'll take it. Same payment as always. Only cash and ammunition" He closed
the phone and headed outside.

These dark days..

It doesn't matter what do you do, as long as you earn money.

Killing regardless feels awful, but somehow you get used to it.
You get better. You start to know what you are doing, and not to be afraid.
.. Maxwell was that kind of a person. He was a bounty hunter.
Hired by rich people to do the dirty work.

Only the amount of cash matters.
It's been like this for long..
.. He is just trying to survive.

The Operator is based on a script of a small film Recistance 2028's lore.
I have planned this since i wrote the script.. well a story. The movie
never really got far. We made only a little trailer with my friends.
Anyway it's based on a cyberpunkish, Half-Life inspired enviroment, in Los Angeles.
Maxwell is a bounty hunter, so he completes different missions all around
the city. So there is a one level, with a lot of things to do. At least
i'm trying to do that. Tehee.

I have took alot of influences from the first Deus Ex, and to come up with a idea similiar to that player can do
one mission in a various ways. Also i'm still out of ideas how to script
stealth missions. Oh god this is still in a such an early progress to post.
Anyway the level design of level 1 is kind of ready. Just need some ideas for
missions, and scripting and other thingys like cash and shop system.
Also voice acting is under progress at the moment. I'm also a composer, so there will be custom music.

This is a pretty big project. Biggest i have actually started in a long time by just myself

You should change the wall and ceiling textures to something more scifi, because it doesnt really fit right now. But your mapdesign is great! Looking foraward to more!

I dont really know. I think more scifi tech would fit for more richer places. The area player is in is a bit like a slum in a metro station.

Anyways, some new screenies.

Darker shader. Gives an good ambience, or not?

Also little bit of a changed model of the magnum 44combat.

I liked it more without the darker shader, but it doesn't look too bad.
I also like the walls that are there ATM more than some over tech scifi walls, atleast how I picture it in my head

While I think the walls and such are fine, I'd definitely make the floor and ceiling textures different.

Cheesehead for life.

Yeah the i gived up with the shader.
.. so i actually changed the wall. I didn't remember stock segs to be this awesome. So i think they will stay.

Basically the LA metro level is fully packed together. By that i mean, it has a storyline which should work and fit in.
Player, Maxwell was informed to find this guy from an abandoned apartment to give him details about the mission. Soon Maxwell finds out what's the deal.
"So you need information. They haven't told you anything about the mission have they?
So there is this richbitch Fabian Forole.
He has delivered secretly weapons to other gangs. Probably making a good amount of money, but
the same time creating a big gangwar among them.
We dont want that to happen. Kill the guy, make sure he is dead and as a reward take whatever is
foundable in his apartment. " - A line from the level.

Fabian Forole isn't so easy deal afterall. And that is where i make the storyline to go interesting. Somehow.

Thanks!

I'm making a bit progress with level 2, still being just a small room with some new texture.
..so it's basically the same place as the first level. A metro station, but in more high-tech area.

Bumbmaps would do some magic to this also, so working with that atm.

Thumbs up for this one, I mean, look at you, I don't know if your really new here because of the date you joined, or an old user like our team who just created a new account, the hell, I don't really care, all I can say is... You are so great! Very creative just like exucorporations stated, and your level design skill is really good, and also I praise you for the hud. Well done mate! I am proud being an fpsc forum member with such mates like you! Keep up the good work and hope to see this project's progress.
