Hi,

I want to use the LEN command to shorten.

J.BUTTON to BUT
F.ALONSO to ALO

(J.BUTTON is a Variable which is a String.)

Where the first letter and . are ignored and the next three characters are taken.

Not sure what combination of LEN and other commands I need to help me.

Any one ? Help greatly recieved.. BTW I have searched forum but onlky explains eg. giving me J.BU for example....
