STATUS: OFFICIAL
DEADLINE: Nov, 18th
MESSAGE TO MOD/EVERYONE: I wanted this to be a yearly thing, and hope that maybe the mods will give me a little more officialism when it comes to these things, instead of making a thread like this and waiting for mod to happen upon it (or someone emailing them). It would be awesome if I had a title for myself or something next to my name ("banner contest creator" or something *wink* *wink) or/and I actually had the power to change the banners myself.
Maybe a title like?
The Banner Guru
I propose we try to make this a yearly thing, if not, or if users are opposed to it, post your thoughts here.
What do you guys think about this?
Rules:
1. The image must be 459x60
2. The image theme must center around the forums
3. It can be an internet meme, but still must center around the forum theme of "geeks" and "nerds". Please try to to heavily use commercial icons.
4. All artwork must be original. Artwork is not any images from a meme/game. Banners can contain TGC related things, such as program icons, screenshot, ect. like this banner:
5. Try to add a black fadeout gradient on the left side of your images so it flows with the webpage
6. Try to create a modern funny image, think about what's "in" today for nerds and geeks
7. Save as
.JPG only, no other formats (this includes animated
.GIF's)
How will the images be chosen?
If it goes again like last time, images will be chosen based on how well they fit with the website and what content they contain (to-be-determined by a mod).
How many images will be chosen?
All of them will just put in one gaint .ZIP file by me and sent
I don't have an image editing program...
Here are some free (and powerful tools):
Paint.NET
GIMP
Pixlr

I am not a fan of MLP
, but that's just me
