Hi, I've been developing my first game ever(a space shooter).
I'm using my mothers old desktop running windows xp media edition,
it has a 21' monitor and a NVIDIA Geforce 6150 LE video graphic card. I also have a 2005 laptop with a 15' screen and a Intel integrated family chip-set 615 video graphic card(crap). In the desktop the game looks fine, but when i test it on the laptop the spaceship sprite becomes misshapen and looks odd along with others sprites. Can anyone with a 15' laptop test my game out and see if this happens?

The game is unfinished so every thing is not there.

It may just be my laptops crappy graphics card.

I include a download link to the game and a picture of the misspan sprite form the laptop.
Thanks.

I don't see a link or code. Are you using the texture flag of 1 when you load the images? Omitting the 1 at the end or making it zero will blur the image automatically. Using a texture flag of 1 will make the images appear exactly the way they were drawn.

Your laptop may also only like square images to the power of 2 (2x2, 4x4, 16x16, 32x32 etc). It's a limitation of cheap graphics processors (used to be a limitation of all graphics cards)

Sorry i count find my post when i checked back cuz of that noob posting rule . I upload the game to a file hosting site, here is the download link.

The spaceship sprite is a odd shape, but why then is the older computer with and older graphic card display it properly and the newer computer with a newer graphic card make it all misshapen?

Ill try editing a texture flag into all my images and sprites.

It's hard to say but if the resolution is different for each computer it'll be stretched differently. Your working with amazingly small graphics so it's hard to say. Your ship is only at 27x13... try making one the same size as the stretched sprite you use. It'll be nicer to look at (better detail) if you don't resize the sprite.

Thats the thing, ive allready tryed that, and the sprite still strecthed (on the x-axis it seems) on my laptop and was fine on the desktop. Can you include a screenshot of the game running on ur computer? So i can compare, thanks.

I just drew this sprite really quick, cuz i wanted to focus on the game development itself. Funny thing is , this is just a new poblem. My first build of the game worked fine, and displayed fine on the laptop, yet now it gets all messed up on the lappy. Im thinking its just cuz of its crappy integrated intel graphic card. It crashes when ever I play a game like spore or minecraft, so thats why its only for school an i program on the older desktop.

BTW: What program did u use to open an archive from my starjelly.exe?

Wait! Never mind on that later post! I believe BatVink was right, i just know tried making all my images to the power of 2(64x64) and the sprites turned out fine on the laptop. Stupid integrated Intel family chip set, cant believe my mom paid $600 dollars for that dell inspirion 1525 laptop, it turned out just to be worthless to me. As for the sprite i have doubled it size in MS paint and im going to give it more detail once i finish the other important functions in the game. I have never made pixel art before so its going to look crappy anyway.

Thanks for all you're help BatVink and Grog!
I appreciate the help even when it was my own fault, ill post the game when it is done!
