The FIRST thing you want to do when you start programming is OWN THE SCREEN!

It was NOT EASY figuring out that the "properties" along the left edge of the editor window needed to be chosen and manipulated, especially as some are NOT choosable before others (every time you start darkbasic).

The 3 of interest are
screen type
window resolution
fullscreen resolution

Which you want to change to
screen type fullscreen
window resolution 1280*1024
fullscreen resolutiom 1280*1024*32

I COULD NOT figure out how to do it in the manual nor in the supplied examples. :-(((

Closest I got was using
set window size 1280,1024
set display mode 1280,1024,32
set window on

Which was NOT good enough for my GOD lust!

Also, funny how you're supposed to magically know and forever keep track of, setting screen size is 200,320,480,640,600,800,768,1024,1280 etc.

BUT, when putting pixels and characters on a screen, you always need minus one when plotting and tabbing. (lower right corner, 1279,1023) :-(

If all the "1"s are in the right place, it'll work like a charm.

You can easily find out the current resolution by using the SCREEN WIDTH() and SCREEN HEIGHT() commands.

Have you seen the "preform checklist for screen resolution" commands? (that might not be the exact name but it's something like that.)

In the "command menu" of the Help guide, it's under "display commands". The command is:

PERFORM CHECKLIST FOR DISPLAY MODES

But what I want to do, is make the ENTIRE screen mine. I don't want an exterior window around the edges with the "close", or "shrink to task bar" boxes in the upper right hand corner to appear nor for anyone to be able to re-size it.

And again, the "resolution" box in the properties section (to the left of the editor window) is UNCHANGEABLE.

If all the "1"s are in the right place, it'll work like a charm.

Either compile your program in fullscreen mode (or use the SET WINDOW OFF command), and/or use Grog's suggestion and use SET DISPLAY MODE to the same size as the display - the options aren't mutually exclusive.
