My vote goes to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

What do you think?

Yeah, I'm not too fond of Majora's Mask - the whole time thing over-complicated it. I just think the music rules.

My top 5 favorite game scores

1. "Metal Gear Solid 2" score by Harry Gregson Williams(HGW is a god, nuff said)
2. "Medal of Honor: Frontline" score by Michael Giacchino(one of those rare game scores that uses a real orchestra, so I love it)
3. "Undying" score by Bill Brown(best horror game score ever)
4. "Silent Hill 3" score by Akira Yamaoka(most innovative)
5. "Ghost Recon" score by Bill Brown

Worst game scores:

1. Resident Evil(horrible score...most of it sounded like synthetic strings being hit randomly)
2. Clock Tower 3(crappy mixing, horribly fake sounding)
3. Enter the Matrix(great music in its original form which was from the Reloaded movie, but they cut the loops for the game terribly...the seems are so noticable that it ruins the whole thing)

- Zelda ocarina of time / wind waker
- SIM CITY 3000 (especially "magic city")
- Metroid prime (esp. main menu)

I agree. After completing OoT I got it and it felt oddly familiar plus the time thing did really make it feel like one big battle against, erm, time

Are you daft? that games music was crap, completely non memorable. MGS1 however is a diffent story, it's music was truely great, I'll take "The Best is Yet to Come" over the whole soundtrack of MGS2.

If you really like Video game music, new or old, Winamp have over 10 Radio station devoted souly to game tunes.

Majora Masl was better than OOC, The time element really fleshed out the towm. If you were racing against the clock most of the game, you must've forgot about the Invertend Song of Time. Play the Song of Time backwards and it slows down time by half.

I find Majora's mask much more atmospheric than OoT with better artwork and music, I just think the time travelling in MM was a bit over-complicated.

matter of opinion. How can liking a score(a great one at that) make me daft? From my perspective I could say the same about you for saying MGS1's score was better.

MGS1's score just passed me by...no effect on me at all. But MGS2's score was so good, to me, that I was inspired to become a composer. So yea, you could say that MGS2's score is the reason I'm a composer today.

Arrow, that was a little rough, no? A person's opinion is there opinion - end of story. Don't call 'em daft or anything because they posted what music the liked.

c'mon, a little mutual respect here, ok?

All the tracks in Urban Chaos were brilliant, gave it a great feel, which is what game music is all about.

I actually found myself playing it just to listen to the music, and I thought it was clever the way that, when you sprinted, the music started, when you got into a hand to hand fight, the beat kicked in, and when you crawled, a sneaky little variation of the game tune played. Brilliant.

Also liked the music from Red Dog on the DC - because virtually every track was a Chemical Brothers rip-off!!! And they sounded great - mission 2 was a Block Rockin' Beats copy. Really cool

1) All Medal Of Honor games, esp. frontline. There is this one mission is Front Line (Arnhem Knights), it makes me want to cry everytime I play it.

2)MAX payne has an excellent score

3)MGS- This has some really good music, my favorite being the death of sniper wolf

4)MGS2- While i HATED the ingame music (the sneaking music was awfull), the music for the cut-sences was very good and nicely scored.

5) Zone Of Enders (1 & 2)- these games definitly had thier moment in music. It reminded me of an anime show (Hideo Kojima was trying to make these games feel like an anime epic)
