I'm posting a link here to the latest release of Soul Defender, my current pet project. This release is slightly old now and there have been some updates since then but I wanted to just get this one out there so people could comment on it. A word of caution, it is around 17 megs (2 music pieces inflate it but they are worth it).

Um I couldn't really see the point in it.

The sounds effects were nice & clean & crisp.
Graphics were pretty too.

But I had no incentive to carry on playing past level 3.
There was no visible progression, nothing seemed to change in the game so I didn't bother to play it anymore.

And the fps reported that I had 66/60 most of the time?!?

This is a works in progress board so don't be disappointed It's really just a demo at this point. I'm still tinkering with the effects and the gameplay and yes, the "hook". I'll admit even I don't really know where I want to go with this game. I need ideas. I'm not going to go into what is planned, rather I'll just work on stuff and release a new version after enough has been done.

BZleader: have no idea. It works for me and everyone else who has tried it that I know of. If anyone has any idea what this problem might be I'd be happy to try to fix it.

Here is a new screenshot. I've decided to incorporate aliens and enter my game in the alienware compo.



EDIT: The release I posted earlier and the screenshot above are now out of date. I will release a new test version soon (without the opening music piece for faster DL).
