I think... not sure, but I think you can use the bend tool on planes. Just rotate the gizmo so it bends the track int eh right direction Oh, and dont forget to subdivide the plane enough so it doesnt deform when you bend

Let me know if this works

Cheers,
Anayar

[EDIT]Nvm, that doesnt work... youll probably just have to manually rotate the plane piece by piece or use edge loops

Best way is to create a path of the road using a spline. Then make a cross-section spline of the road and extrude along the spline path. I forget the exact command as it's been a while since I used Max, but you can set the amount of extrudes along the path, and even edit the spline path afterwards so you can get the road down to how you want it to look. Afterwards just convert it to an editable mesh and your done!

Super easy, just don't think so much, let the spline path do the work for you. Just do, or do not, there is no try.

WOW...I have notice you using Truespace

That very good as I wish it was super easy in 3DS Max 9 as I was using spline then try make thicker to make look like a road but no...I have keep trying unless I try Truespace which look easier than 3DS MAX 9!

Has nothing to do with the program's ability, but of the command names, which unfortunately are different in every program... Look under your spline section of your Max manual, I guarantee there is a part that shows you how to sweep polygons along a spline path.

Now just add curve values to the Spline points and smooth that thing out.

I put Edit Spline then

I see the Curve Editor and should I select that?

No, edit the spline manually by moving vertices. You can right click on the vertices and select "Bezier" or "Bezier Corner" to smooth things out

Cheers,
Anayar

Maybe this will help you a bit, made with max 2011...so I'll do FBX exports, this is a basic Road profile I did awhile back but feel free to use them for whatever...no textures included ..simple to texture..intersection can be a bit tricky..but yeah, you'll get it.

Hope this helps!
