The biggest thing that that demo doesn't cover is animations Which would be crucial to a fighting game.
To put down a background have the first sprite you create be the background.
To use fewer sprites and not have to worry about creating huge animated sprite images, I would recommend calling this command
before the main loop, and then use dbPasteSprite(intID); to draw the same sprite multiple times.
Of course you can change image and properties of your sprite every time you draw it so that it looks like an arm or a leg or whatever else you want it to be.
