Hey guys,

I decided to finally add some blood to my game, as i was at a memory block (didn't really know what to do next). So i went into Photoshop, and started making my blood overlay. Now, it is not very good i know. But i was trying to make it 3d'ish instead of it just looking like a picture. What do you guys think? What should i change to make it more realistic? Sorry, the screenshot is a little dark..

Oh and, the overlay itself is somewhat dark (dark red) but it still appears to be brighter when in FPSC, does anyone know why? And why is it when i change my overlay to static it disappears?

Thanks!
- Josh

Not bad for a start, but you could try this to make it even more realistic looking
Darken it up a bit - should get rid of the 'cartoony' feel
Make it slightly opaque, which should do the same thing

It looks like it has some 'waves' and that inside of it. You should get rid of those, blood doesnt come IIINNNNNNNNNNNNN WAAAAAAAAAAVEEEEEEES /trivium
(depending on who you listen to, you might not get that joke)

What are you working on by the way?

@TheDesertEagle - Technically i did, but i still come on here once and a while to see how everyone is doing, to help some people out, or to ask for some help.. Thanks btw

@TiTaniUm - Thank you for all of that! The funny thing is is that the texture is REALLY dark. I mean it almost looks black! But for some reason when i put it into FPSC it makes it really bright (red). So i guess i just have to try and darken it more. Oh i would also like to point out that the blood is near an orange-ish light, so that might affect the color..

And why exactly would i make it opaque? Should i make it transparent? Well, not when there is a big puddle of it XD
And can you be a little more specific with this "waves" thing? I don't really see it..

Oh, and im working on my game. The title is still a mystery, but im working on it. I have put it on the forums, if you want to look it up the name is Relentless Insanity. I was going for an Amnesia style game, and so far it is pretty good! Just the blood is holding me back a bit..

@King Fluffs - Nice name bro XD And thank you! ^.^

Oh and does anyone know what transparency the overlay should be set too? I have it set to 1? Does it matter? Oh and should it be static or dynamic?

EDIT - I have added a new picture, why does FPSC add this weird line around my image? It wasn't there when i made the picture? Oh and i brightened it for you guys this time

Thanks!
