hi,
maybe i can help! this may not be a fix for every one!
when i uses my pc's with wifi, i set them with a stactic ip, Not using DHCP but then i have about 3 pc's 4 laptops and xboxes and wii & Epad, printers using static Ip address, as DHCP is not suitable for my prupose
First thing. goto your wifi card properties
then double click on the -
Internet Protocol version 4(TCP/IPv)
and change the Add ip automacticly to (Use the following ip: add ress)
and enter your ip for the first computer into the box.
to find your ip in Vitsa, Goto Network connections and right click on your wifi connection and select status the click on the details Button and you will see it there with other network settings.
And so the ip to use
Example
PC1 wifi: 192.168.2.3
PC2 wifi: 192.168.2.5
PC5 wifi: 192.168.2.7
Submask : 255:255:255:0
Click Use the following DNS server addresses
Prefered DNS server: 192.168.2.1
or whatever your router ip is Not your Broadcasting IP and neither your computer Ip,
i will go over that bit at the end.
Remember these are Example ip address's so you will need to find out yours.
Note that the last numbers I increase by 2x, thats because you should have your ethernet set to use the spare numbers inbetween the wifi and it helps you work out what pc's are on what ip address more easily.
Note: You don't have to have it set this way
So when done this will be the ip address's you forward your port to in your router setup
Example
PC1 Nic: 192.168.2.4 or PC1 wifi: 192.168.2.3
PC2 Nic: 192.168.2.6 or PC2 wifi: 192.168.2.5
Note :you can't have the same ip on Ethernet card and your Wifi.
Then i changed settings in the router from DHCP server to off, as this disables automatic ip address release, meaning DHCP assigns an ip to the computers in order of them booting up and you don't realy won't that when using a few pc's.
Then port forward
Example
Name:fpsc inbound and outboud ports set to 2303 type of data protocol connection UDP not TCP
Port forwarding from router is not the same as within your windows firewall, and not to be confused,
set up your firewall in windows to allow your FPSC game to be accepted in the firewall.
For finding out your Broardcasting Ip,
a quick way is to visit here.
http://www.whatismyip.com/
once you have that then give that to you other friend that wan't to play over the internet and add the last number of your Ip with : before the number.
Example
200.300.44.5:3 this will look through the net for your router and then your port forwarding will forward to the pc in the network for the last ip number, for this example it was 3,
indicating the wifi card on PC1 using Ip ending with 3
see this site for more about port forwarding and testing
http://portforward.com
some people are lucky and don't need to do all this and just need to connect to their router and just port forward to 2303 and set protocol to UDP
Job done.
but for a bigger network or wifi then there is the harder way, well again not always the case, but atleast i have gave a bit more info,
I think thats about it
I'am not GOD but i can make you see again by taking my fingers out of your eyes and i can make you walk again by taking your beer away, but if you take my beer you will not walk again
