Welcome to the wonderful world of FPSC.

First of all, a very nice design to begin with. Maybe a character or two without a weapon acting like they are monitoring the panels (at least looking at them). Also, goto ScFi Furniturea. See what you can add from there. Say, coffee cups on the table. Small crates somewhere in the room. Use your imagination.

Also, goto to the FPSC media forum and search through all the wonderful things people are creating. Most of it is free.

I would be looking for a large screen TV or two, perhaps a briefcase and some files on the table, and a couple of PanAm stewardesses. Or maybe a serving bot instead.

Now I don't know the rest of the level so this might not work for you, but I'm not a fan of low ceilings. I might open up the ceiling above the table, bring it up a level and install some skylights for natural lighting. If you could angle the rest of the ceiling 45 degrees up to it it would be even better.

You might take one of the long wall sections out and build in a recess on one side for a small storage area with file cabinets and such. The more angles in the picture, the more interesting it is to explore.

Brian.

Thank you, by the way your Legacy Warfare game looks cool !

I've addded iron bars to the windows, I've brightened the picture a bit.

For 2 months in you are doing very well! I would try to add some more entities to the room, maybe a crate in a corner, some papers on the table (as others have mentioned), or maybe some pipes or something?

Keep up the great work!

WOW , only two months with fpsc and your game looks far more interesting than most of the games around here. You should make a WIP (work in progres) thread so we can follow your work.

Keep up the good work

Hello and thank you, about the WIP thread, I must say than the project will be kept secret until I didn't completed the whole first level.

For info, the first level will be splitted in five small maps, I've attached a screenshot of the third one ( I haven't started the second one yet )

It's a screenie of the maintenance deck of the Research Guild ship.

I have a question about the lights, I can't manage to desaturate my light colours, someone can help me please ?

[jaw drops]

First Screen: just stunning...
Second Screen: outstanding!
Third Screen: Impressive!

They all look wonderful!

You have put a lot of work into this level, undoubtedly! Have you read the Online Community Guide by Nickydude? (It should be in your "Docs" folder under the FPSC folder). Your work looks like something of a seasoned FPSC-user pro! The lighting is beautiful. Where on earth did you get that skybox?

Suggestions: I suggest you try to make the meeting room with a low ceiling (contrary to Xplosys). When I think of conference rooms, I think of something long, but short. The second screen shot you have gives me the feeling that it is sort of like an Auditorium.

I would not add boxes, pipes, etc. If this is a meeting room, then it should look like a meeting room (as it does in your first and second screenshots), not like a cargo hold.

Also, I suggest you add some neat-looking hallways and have the maintenance section of your map off-shoot from one of the halls. When I am playing a game and I walk directly from a very hospitable environment into one not so much... it gives an unbelieving feeling. People have to walk through THIS to get to this room? is what I think. Of course, if there's a story behind that, then leave that way!

Sorry if I appear overly-critical, just me with my thinking cap on.

You have an unusual attention to detail, especially for using FPSC for only 2 months. Have you had previous game development experience in the past?

Is this a STAR WARS inspiried game? "Research Guild" sounds STAR WARS-ish. It looks like it! I am a big fan of the movies and TV series. Glad to see another fan here on the forums.

Oh, and your english is great. As long as we understand what you're saying, we are happy. What is your native language, if you don't mind me asking. It won't hurt my feelings if you decline the question.

Good work!
Captain Coder

EDIT

I just realized I didn't answer your question. Sorry about that! Your amazing screen shots made me forget When you say desaturate your light colors, do you mean to make the colors not so strong? Sorry for the rather dumb question, my brain is tired.

One of the most humbling days in your life will be the day you discover you AREN'T the best at what you love to do.
