Yeah... HI. Well I saw the competition subject just now and it seemed fun so I wanted to do something for it. Figured I'd as per usual do a thread here to update my progress instead of posting a bunch in the thread itself.
I wanted to try combining elements I liked from the alien eggs and face huggers, and just add some stuff in. So this has been the outcome so far.

Not sure if I'll bake this model down into a low poly or not, I might, although I have a feeling that I won't have time to what with the competition ending in like 2 days and all

Looks great!

Haha yeah, I remember making that stuff too. Most of it being on this forum as well
Thanks!

Been retopologising the pretty thing, not the most optimized model ever but it's not like I'm actually putting it in a game engine or anything. I just want it to look good as a final render.

The entire model is UV'd now and I've started on the texture work. Very basic so far but again, it's just a start

cant believe that youre about the same age as me... and about a thousand times better! (i know age doesnt have anything to do with skill)
You are so friggin talented
I am sure you wont have any problems getting work as a 3d designer if thats your future wish.

Texture seems a bit boring, I think you should add some more of those highlights you have at the back, it seems to have a nice style there.

Teeny tiny little update, been doing some more work on the texture (as if that was surprising). Just now starting with the tail-spine-thing.
Having tons of fun with this thing

Alright, we're closing up on the end stretch here.
I baked out the textures, normals and AO and puzzled them all together.
This is the current result, I don't think I'm calling it done just yet, but it's pretty close

Looks AWESOME! Is it low poly enough for a game?

Cheers,
Anayar

Thanks! I suppose if it's a current gen one it would be, I definitely didn't retopologise it so it'd be optimal though so if it were to go in a game it'd have to have a bit of optimization done to it for sure.
