Greetings and salutations,

Today I have for you the Bathyscaphe Trieste, a deep sea vessel that reached the bottom of the Marianas Trench in 1960 while carrying two human operators - a feat that has never been replicated since.

You are free to use in any application (commercial, noncommercial, etc.), and though I typically do not request credit, in this case, I ask that you credit the Synthetic Reality Lab at the University of Central Florida, and the National Science Foundation.

Enjoy!! And there will be lots more coming in the following weeks.

Also, let me know if you would like me to make some additional skins for it. I could perhaps do a steampunk version...

Thanks! I should also state that the mesh was modeled by a staff artist in the lab. I wish I had the knowledge/time to learn Maya but probably not in this life!

Well this is something you don't see often. It's a great piece and looks very well done. Thanks for sharing.

As for variations, I think it would make a great steampunk airship, perhaps with a couple of sails.

Thanks, guys! This reminds me...I put in about 8 hours on a steampunk zeppelin but got side tracked after some tragedy struck close to home. But it's time to revisit it 'cause it was definitely the best thing I've done in 3D.
