Hey all

You may all be familiar with my distortion effect I made a while back. I placed a subdivided plain over the camera and textured it with the current render. The distortion was created by changing the positions of the vertices on the plain. I'm looking for a bloom shader that can be applied directly to the plain object. If that's not possible, then I need some shader that can take the rendered image from DBP, process the bloom, and then return an image again.

Any help? Evolved's shaders all use multiple cameras and other weird luminance shaders, I really only want one simple shader.

I don't have an example but you can apply a bloom shader to an image I think... you could render to a render image using the image kit and paste the image to the screen using the effect.

Another possibility is to fake it by brightening, blurring and then applying the image to a slightly transparent object...?

Search the FPSC forums, Mark Blosser made the single greatest bloom shader I've seen in DBP. I use it in all my games.

It's really easy to setup and use too.
