KC1+xx is my new free media pack based off the style of games like HeroUp. Recently my son and daughter have become obsessively addicted to the online game and I'll admit the game is appealing with it's Marvel Universe characters and graphic style based off their Super Hero Squad show. The style is very simple, models are made with disproportional look with the most basic of color or pattern texture. It is then given an AO bake. The result is a nice looking comic style model. I decided, heck FPSC could use something like this for more kid friendly games.

So now I introduce my KC1+xx Project. The 1+xx stands for 1 model plus however many I decide to make. So from that your at least guaranteed 11 models. I'll try to update daily or as much as possible. Each object will be considered two models, a white AO bake and a color/texture AO bake. Variations may be included.

Now to the media, let's get this project started.

KCM001: Mailbox (White)
In-Game:

Note: Left side is AO bake with no lights, right side is AO with one light source.

The funny thing is that it was very frustrating creating this model...nearly took 4 hours. What happend was I built the model, uv mapped and added a simple off white texture. Then added a skylight and hit the bake texture button (truespace)...it starts going nuts. First it say the model has 4k polys and then crashes. I try again...now it has 14k polys then crashes...This problem has never happened in earlier versions of TS, but for some reason it doesn't work well in TS 7.

So what do I do? Downloaded Blender and spent the next 3 hours learning how to use it. Imported my model, setup the scene and texture baked the AO onto the model. The results were pretty good.

Anyway, enough babble.

That's why I still used GameSpace instead.

I actually still have my gamespace install cd, plus the 'expansion' cd. I might re-install it for fun.

Edit: Just landed an insane job that will probably take up every waking moment of my life for the next month or two. For now this project is cancelled.

Unfortunately I'm still unable to continue on with any personal projects atm as I'm currently working on a huge job. It'll probably take up most of my time for the next 6 months, but if I find free time I'll see about picking a project back up.
