use the Ide that comes with the package you've received then see if it needs any upgrade. this is the official IDE for now and it is very good.

don't mix up yourself with non official releases.

I really enjoy Indigo too, grab it and see for yourself. It's great, so much so I donated to its cause. ^_^

I'm a massive, massive fan of CodeSurge. Every other IDE I've ever tried (including the default) has bugs coming out their backsides. The current version of CodeSurge is perfect.

I still prefer BlueIDE 2 but eventually I'll go over to Indigo 100%.

Grog, I've been heavily using Indigo the past few months and loving it. What is restricting you from making the change over from BlueIDE 2?

Also Grog, what's your opinion on CodeSurge, assuming you've used that at some stage too?

GrimmReaper,

If you are still undecided, try our IDE and let us know what you think.

Your question helped me convert fully to Indigo.

I was hesitant because I don't really like change (like for the last 20 years when I need new shoes I only buy black colored Reeboks). I was used to BlueIDE 2 for many years and was fine with it's quirks. But after reading your question I downloaded the latest Indigo version and played with it long enough to be convinced it's a good change. The things I'm used to in BlueIDE 2 that aren't in Indigo can easily be added by Balid.

I must say that Synergy Editor seems more professional to me. The synergy editor comes with the latest upgrade for DBPro.
Here is the latest upgrade.http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2000&page=upgrade7-61

I use the editor which comes with DBPro. It's the most useful one to me. Have used CodeSurge for a long time before that, but in the end there were just some quirks that annoyed me too much.

It's the same thing. Dark game studio is just the name given to a collection of tools, including Dark Basic Pro.

So what IDE are we talking about here? The Original DBPro IDE? Or the newer IDE powered by synergy editor based on Visual Studio?

or

The DGS IDE was upgraded to IDE 7.x
The DBP IDE is now old and outdated.

I have updated my DBP but for some reason I still have the old editor. How do I get the new one?

It should be located in your Editor directory (inside your Darkbasic Pro directory). The filename you want to use is EditorNew.exe.

Thank you so much. Apparently something went wrong with the update file. I realized the file you were talking about was missing and re-installed the update. I like the new IDE it has all the features I was looking for in other IDEs.
