Hello guys,

I was wondering,

Do you think would be cool a game that mixes 1st Person with 3rd Person in FPS Creator.

I think i can do 3rd person with Silent Hill Script (i brought it) and a bit of scripting (i am studying hard FPI Script).

I just would like to hear your opinions about this, some missions the player plays in 1st person, another missions / levels player plays in 3rd person.

Also some levels of driving vehicles (basic driving like conjured chopper).

Some games come to my mind now, multi genre games, like the old 007 Tomorrow Never Dies por PSX, Star Wars Shadows of Empire for N64, Headhunter for Sega Dreamcast.

I think is worth playing a game with variety of action, not only shoot enemies. And i think FPSC is able to handle it, with those new improvements from now.

And it all would depend on the mission style, to choose between 3rd or 1st person. In example, one mission of stealth, like Hitman, i would do it in 3rd person.

But a mission of open combat, i would do it in 1st person.

I don`t know if you guys got my idea, but i just want an opinion.

Cheers,

007

some mods provide 3rd-person option in addition to 1st person (i dont know if you can switch ingame). and look at the titles made by wolf. most of them are adventures, part puzzle, part shooter. someone around here has written scripts for a stealthgame. move on and combine them all together in a great game.

I didnt release mine to the public yet since I have another project I'm working on.
2Beastmode4U released his 3rd person script somewhere so you might look for his script.

Well if youre still interested in mine send me a mail, since I dont want to make my scripts public, yet.

Actually, CE made the first one and everyone just built off of that. He inspired me to script my own.

The link to my script pack is right here:

The idea though is great which is the main point of me even creating my own. Since I've never seen it done before inn FPSC, I think it would be great to see in a game.

Cheers.

God help me, Please.

I think your idea is good. As a matter of fact, my wife and I have done a development where you are in first person, then switch to third person for some levels. Our client was very happy with the end result. The only thing we found on our side was we were not too sure whether we should do it often or a minimal amount. We ended up going the route where the first four levels were first person, then the fifth was third person, six through eight were first person, nine was third person, and remaining levels back to first person. A lot had to do with the specific level and what the player had to do to help us determine which would be more suitable.

We have even seen other games use this feature quite effectively. You mention this game, which I played right as soon as it was first released. This game was what gave us the idea to employ the technique.

Yes, we would agree with this assessment. We tried an open combat level and it felt too much like Army Men (you know, the little plastic army men video game(s)?). It just did not feel right, so we went with the same idea.

Overall, it is nice to see others employ these type of techniques. Don't give up and get discouraged. Look forward to seeing how you progress.
