My env: Matrox Millennium G400 16MB, ver 5.12.01.1880, DirectX8.1 (4.08.01.0881), Celeron 500Mhz

DBPro min requirement list states, that DirectX9 must be installed. However, I tried waterslide demo created by DBPro and it works fine in dx8.1 machine.

What do you think, can I download up-to-date DBPro evaluation version and use it in dx8.1 environment just fine. Or am I forced to use use basic DB version.

DBPro Version 5+ needs DX9.
Waterslide was made prior to this when DX8.1 was all you needed.

DBP 1.00.0 -> 1.04.1 are DirectX8.1
DBP 1.05.0 -> 1.05.2 are DirectX9.0

silly really, suppose it doesn't really matter as Dx9 works in all of the same windows that Dx8.1 did and is easier to develop for. But somehow it seemed wrong to upgrade.
