I've figured out how to increase firing speed in a weapon's gunspec. If you look under "HUD animation frames list", you will see a list of animations and the frame numbers that make up that animation. If you look under "automatic fire", you will see the frames that FPSC uses for that animation. If you change the frame numbers by even a small amount, it should increase firing speed.
Specifically, it looks like this in the Gunspec:
Quote: "automatic fire = 78,81"
"78" is the frame that the animation begins on and "81" is the ending frame. It works similarly for the other settings as well. So, when changing the gunspec, remember this:
automatic fire = [starting frame],[ending frame]
Keep in mind that you may need to make some changes under "HUD sound frames list" if you do some tweaking. Look under the "HUD sound frames list". Where it says "sframe0" is usually where the firing sound is played and what frame it is played on. Specifically, it says something like:
Quote: "sframe0 = 78,1"
The "78" is the
animation frame the sound is played on, and the "1" is the
sound number. Sound numbers are determined under "Gun Sounds". Sound1 in the "Commando" weapon is "fire.wav". So the proper format then is:
sframe0 = [frame sound is played on],[sound number]
So, in summary, to make the guns fire faster, change the HUD animation frame numbers in "automatic fire" to a smaller number of frames played (3 frames works good). If you set the starting frame different from the frame specified in "sframe0", just change the frame number in "sframe0".
Hope it helps! I know it is hard to understand, but hopefully it makes sense.
