Hello all.

This modelling thing is rather confusing!

I am VERY new to it all and i am struggling at the moment.

I am trying to make something nice and simple to start me off. I have created a standard light fixture with a florescent tube.

I am getting an error when i am trying to export it from Blender.

I have attached a higher resolution version of the image if it's difficult to read the one above.

Does anyone know what these errors mean? Or has anyone got a fix for this?

Ah, everybody always has the worst troubles exporting to directx from blender, if i were you i'd bypass blender's exporter completely and export it to another format, such as .fbx and convert it to directx from autodesk's fbx converter, i think it can convert to directx

Ive never had a problem exporting to Directx.

you do know how to right? I just know i was looking for the directx format to export and i could not find it but i looked for 10 min and found it.

is that what it says when you click export to directx?

Could you post the .blend file so i can see if i can get it to work? if it is akay with you?

@Oster200

Yeah, that's what it says when i try.

That is after i have clicked export, then chosen where to save it, then named it, when i click the button to say, 'export', it gives me this error message. Although, i have exported two models previously, and they were fine. It is ever since i have tried to texture my models. Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Well have you tested it since you post the attachement?

It works fine for me.

How do you add a picture in a post?

I use DarkGDK so here is the picture up close in the sparky collision example. To show you two things.

1. it works for me ill see what the problem might be for you.
2. to show you what it looks like.

yeah, just tried to do it then. Nothing. I may just uninstall and reinstall blender. It might o the trick?!?!

Thanks for looking at it for me.

Feel free to use it if you want. I know it's not very good, but, you can use it.

To add a picture in post, just copy the images URL, paste it into the message box, highlight the URL and click the 'image button, above the emoties.

Yea reinstalling it might.

I think the light is a great start. Its not bad at all!

You will have to tell me if that works so if anyone else has a problem the community seeing this post knows.

Good Luck. Hope reinstalling it helps.

Hi Oster200

Reinstalling Blender worked a treat. I can now export DirectX files again.

Thanks for the advice.
