Hello, raven1650.
I believe you are asking if you can do outside enviroments in FPS Creator. Well, you can and it's very easy to do.

Here is an example:
1. Go to ADD NEW SEGMENT and select WW2, go to PLATFORMS and simply select the Grass segment and map with it. There you go, you will have an outside enviroment.

If you wish, you can edit the sky in your Build Game menu, in the Level Settings.

I hope I helped.

1. No, you can use other media , but they must be in .x format. You can make these using programs such as Milkshape or download them from sites such as fps-files.com.

2. Outside levels work to some degree, but it takes expirience with the software to put a good-looking one together but it is possible(look at the Bad Company 2 remake for example).

3. Terrain is one of FPSC's main problems. AI and and even the player struggle on ground that isn't flat.

4. Models must be imported into Direct x (.x) format to be used. Fragmotion is free and can convert many formats.

While your just getting to grips with the FPSC engine it is probably best to stick to generic indoor zombie shooter untill you grasp the strenghs and weaknesses of the engine.

Have a good look around the tuorials while you expirement with FPSC

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

Also if you read through my Post
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=187298&b=25

You can pick up some good info on what can be done, and well as download items, also there is a link to loads of youtube vids to show what effects can be made/done

The main problem with out door scenes, is keeping a good frame rate, as even with a large map and with only a small amount of items can be a frame rate killer, its a ballance of using the right amount of data that gets proccessed in one go.

People will say use only low poly models, its not the case all the time, but yeah models with high polys will reduce frame rate if not kept to a good count, but its also about the texture sizes and how many scripts and sound files and characters that is also proccessing in one go.

Ok i shall not go on to much about all the good and bad things.

But if you plan on mainly making an out door game, then the first thing you need to do is, start learning to make small maps and start building in the middle of the map editor.

Why you may ask?

Ok, FPSC has a big issue with keeping it frame rate high, as its the centre of the World basicly, and thus the game engine is proccessing 360% of the map at once, and so by starting in the middle you can keep a better eye on your frame rate as you progress out wards. And so i would write a plan of what your gonna do, So you start writing a story board.

And if it starts to get to low the there are a few tricks/ideas to work around to keep the fps better.

And finaly, Purchase as many model packs that has outdoor items in them, Like rocks, trees, bridges, plants extra, or if you can model and have the right tools to make them fps ready then that is a bonus.

If not then trust me you will need to get a lot of software to do all on your own, Like these that i use for example

Audio, I use Audicity
Plants Plant Life, Alfresco
Trees, Tree Magic, Easy tree Maker.
3d Anims , Frag Motion, Messiah 5, Autodesk Maya, FragMotion
3d Modeling, Wings 3d, Blender, 3d Max, Milkshape, Sculptris
Terrains, Terragen 2,L3DT 2.9, EarthSculpter
Decal Maker,Entity workshop, Segment Creator
Firma and SinsV for making Walls and floors & Decals and well as Signs
Model Maker, Character Workshop,
3d World studio
Ultimate Unrap
weapon creator,

Ok sorry to bore you with the list , but you don't need all that i have mentioend, but you will no doubt will need most and thats a lot of software to learn.

their are many more i have also, but by learning what i need to make my game has put me behind making it by at least 7 months,

Because making the game is the easy bit, you just need to know how things work good in the enviament/scene you making.

Any way you have a good community here and we will help you the best we can.

Also do a search for the word free and you will see plenty of post's of peoples free media/contents that you can download and install to your Fpsc.

You most welcome,
As for the software list that i posted, why i have so many is due to the converting to Directx format from the software that i most like that does not export or import .X files

Most software does not support both the Import and export of .X files and so need other software to convert and personal i would learn Blender as it does import and export of .X files

And is well packed with features and the best thing its Free,
But as it is very powerfull, it is rather tricky to get to grips with, exespecialy for a new 3d modeler & animator.
