I was wonder if it is possible to use the character shaders in model pack 57 on the zombies in the "Zombie Apocalypse" pack? I was planning on using both packs in a game, but the fact that some characters have projected shadows and others do not is rather... offsetting.

Its possible, and pretty esy. Go to your entity bank and open up the Model Pack 57 folder.(I think its called Zombie Apocolypse 2). Take a look at the textures that are used.

Then assign the same textures for whatever character you want to have it as well, and assign the character the shader that comes with the pack.

The normal map for it, is different than others ive seen. Bond1 mentioned he did something in photoshop to achieve it. If you have Gimp(its free) use the normal map filter,(it might be a seperate download).

Make sure your texture has an alpha channel, and in the normal map filter is an option for "alpha channel" Choose height, and then check "Swap RGB".

I am not sure if this is similar to what Bond1 does in Photoshop, an I dont now much about textures or modeling, but Ive tried various ways to get this shader to work on other models, and this has done very nicely.

The _S texture, are also a little different. What i do is change the hue to very low blue, with low saturation, then adjust the brightness and contrast

Ive attched an image of the shader on the Dante character from the Freaks and Abominations pack

A little birdie told me that a 1.19 beta may be coming this holiday season.

All the code is now in place so that character shadows can respond to light sources now! So I plan on including a "unified" character shader that will be the default for ALL characters. So you won't have to jump through hoop to get shadows working anymore, or have a certain model pack to get them.
