Although I am not new to programing as I graduated from "AMOS" up, I am new to FPS.
I recently Purchased FPS Creater which included the free Model Packs.
I seem to be having trouble installing them on my Game Creator.
I'm 82 now, so I might be getting a bit slow so I would be greatful if someone could run through it fo me, step by step.
Frustrated Old Wrinkly.

Hello old rinkly, and welcome to FPS Creator. Could you be more specific about the problem you are getting? Do the model packs install but they don't appear in FPS Creator? It will be easier if you tell us more about the problem, since there could be various reasons for the trouble you are getting.

Welcome to the forums!

what version of windows are you using and is it 32 bit or 64 bit. Some of the older model packs are set up for 32 bit. With 64 bit your FPSC folder is in "programfiles (86)", but the installers put them in "programfiles".

But step by step would be:
1. install fpsc
2. install the 1.18 updates from the web site
3. install each model pack (changing the location if needed by 64 bit windows
4. run the fpsc cleaner in the fpsc files folder to clean up the install and enjoy.

Hi The Hitchhiker and raymondlee.306.
Thank you for replying. The model packs do appear to install but don't show up on the Creator.
I have Windows 7 ultimate, 64 bit.
The FPSC is on the program folder "Program files (x86)"
I,ll give it another go with what you have told me. Fingers Crossed.
oh', thanks for the link.
Cheers. Oldwrinkly

Welcome ole wrinkly.

I'm glad to see that people in the UK can live that long.

Just kidding. If you hold at 82 it won't take me very long to catch up. Only a handful of years. So, glad to see someone else that is as old as dirt on here. Most of those using FPSC are youngins. One of my grandsons always will remind me, "Grandpa, your old." I then tell him yea, I'm old as dirt and he'll ask,"Really?"

You're in good hands with raymondlee. I don't know hitchiker. Seems to be pretty new but knows the right questions to ask.

Which are the model packs that came in the deal?

Some of the model packs don't install to the library in folders called "Model Pack x" etc. They are installed by name. The first time this happened I was very confused.

Also my advice would be to install all the model packs and then install the latest update. As some of the older model packs include older version of FPSC which are required by them to run.

THEN: Then is used either as a time marker or with a sequence of events.

as far as i know some of the packs under 10 create errors in the versions above 1.13 as thraxas intended. they cause fpsc to crash (i think it was mp 4,6 and 7 or something like this.

If it's not too much trouble old rinkly, could you take a screenshot of your segment and entity library (I've attached an example to my post).

Hopefully from this we'll be able to see where they installed or if they haven't installed properly.

a quick workaround would be to create a folder on your desktop and install all of the packs to your newly created folder. when all the packs have installed there copy and paste the contents into your entitybank, scriptbank, etc.

That's what Grandsons are for. Happy you got it sorted out and waiting to see what you can do with it. The rocking chair and TV are for old people and won't give you anywhere near the frustration... I mean fun that FPS Creator will.

The best part is

Well, there is no best part, but give it a go anyway.

Soon to be rinkly too,
Brian.
