I'm learning slowly but surely by reading the forums. My CO-designer has already got his copy of DBPRo and is having fun. I personally, while I wait, want to know if its possible for DBPro to handle higher network functions that would allow multi-player. IF any is possible at what levels? FPS for 2,4,8, 64? Allow the way to clustering with Hundreds of players. While realisticly UT's engine is sweet how many of us budding developers have the 10,000 dollars for the engine and UT2K4's engine with vechiles and flight will probably be REALLY expensive.

Thanks

as far as part of your question goes, yes you can make networked games with up to 255 users (If I remember correctly) theoretically, not sure how much of a super-machine would be needed to host that many users. Maybe others can chime in with more exact info...not sure about your other questions.

A FPS in DBP for 2 is relatively simple (peer to peer).

For more than two you need to have everyone connect to the host and the response would be dependent on the network and the computer rather than the programming language.

The more you see, the more you know.

Okay here's my thing. I'm a HUGE space fan. I loved jumpgate. I have my own moo but want more. I want to take it to the next level. GUI

So Thats exactly where I was heading. A "server" based environment with a "client side" as well.

Any thoughts?
