The TGC Gallery is here!

If you have published a game written in AppGameKit - Tier 1 or Tier 2 - then you can use the Gallery to show off your creation. Add your content now, and be one of the first to enter the Gallery. Here is what you will need to be include:

1. Application Name
2. Short Description
3. Application Description
4. Developer Name
5. Preview Screenshot
6. Up to three more game images
7. Game Category
8. YouTube Link (where available)
9. Supported Platforms
10. Availability

1. Application Name
The name by which your game is known, and listed on any Marketplaces

2. Short Description
A one-line description (45 characters) for your game. This is often used to display your strap line. For example:

The Aliens are Coming, Save the World!

3. Application Description
A large free-text area to describe and promote your game. In this section you should consider the following:

A good description of your game. Start by summarising the game concept, and the points that would make a potential player want to download your game. describe briefly how the game is played and how you progress through the levels:

A quick and casual game of skill you won't want to put down. Challenge your friends and top the global score charts. Grab the Globbies and lock them up as quickly and as securely as you can. The faster you trap them, the more you score, it really is that simple.

Include any unique gameplay features:

Use your finger to swipe the Globbies away, but be careful not to tip your phone as you do and lose the rest! You need speed and a steady hand together.

Use Bullet Points to list the features:

* 3 Skill Levels
* 10 worlds
* Online High Scores
* Save your Progress
* Download new levels
* Build your own Globbies

Complete your description with a Call to Action:

Download Attack of the Globbies now and top the High Score Chart before your friends do!

4. Developer Name
The name of your company (if you have one) or your own name. It is important that you do not claim to be an organisation or company if this is not true. This should reflect the name/organisation you have represented yourself as in the Marketplaces.

5. Preview Screenshot
This image will be seen on the game listings page amongst all other games. Ensure it is clear and is representative of your game. An in-game shot is ideal, and should be of typical gameplay, not menus, score tables etc.

6. Up to three more game images
Again, these should show off your game at its best. You might want to include a Title Screen, and images of game explosions, Boss scenes or other game highlights.

7. Game Category
We have many categories, from Action to Strategy and everything in between

8. YouTube Link (where available)
If you have a game video on YouTube then you can include the link

9. Supported Platforms
Each platform that is supported by AppGameKit is available as a linkable icon. You will need the specific link for your game in the marketplace.

10. Availability
In-development games can also be published to the Gallery. We reserve the right to be selective about in-development games, and may require sufficient evidence to gauge whether the game will in fact be completed and published.

Grammar and Spelling
Be meticulous with your Gallery Entry, it speaks volumes about the quality of your game.

1. Check your spelling
2. Check your grammar - particularly the common mistakes:
* their, there and they're
* your and you're

3. Do not abbreviate, you have plenty of space.
4. Get friends, colleagues, Word and Google to advise you

Use this as an opportunity to critique your game and explore just what makes your game special, and make it a fun exercise!

You do not need to post your entries here (unless you want critique and help). Simply add your entry to the Gallery, where it will be approved by the TGC team.

Sounds exciting Batvink! Must get something finished then...

Does the game have to be published on a recognised App Store or is it OK if the game is available to download (paid or otherwise) from a website somewhere? If it's the latter I may nearly have something ready

Yay! thanks, however the android link points to our website, and not to the supplied link to the android store... :s Not overly fussed, but using the android market link would be easier for any potential buyers.

*edit* Actually, the android link within the game's gallery page works, but the link from the main gallery does not.

Well done Mobiius, first community App on the Store.

A couple of typos you should correct (Your game quality will be judged by your listing quality ) :

----------
The object of the game is to get from the start to the finish, whilst passing over every block, at least once. (Some blocks need to be passed over twice, some three times.)
----------

BatVink, how about a game which was originally created using a different SDK which I have now ported and re-coded in AppGameKit? Does that count?

Any AppGameKit game that is published can be added to the Gallery.
Any game that is going to be published imminently can be submitted for consideration.

Hi, I've added my game to the Gallery, but it's a BlackBerry PlayBook app and there is no tickle-box for this platform. Will this platform be added to the Gallery when 107 is released?

Just added my game "Leg It!" which is a mini-game made by me for a "Game Making Academy" project organised by Rick Vanner for a local school. The kids made most of the media including the main characters, scenery and sound effects.

Peter Jovanovic did the rest of the graphical wizardry and I wrote the code.

It will soon be released on iOS, Android and probably MacOS. Maybe other platforms at a later date but the main aim is that the student's parents can download the game for their kids.

I have just added our game to the Gallery, BoxShot... Its a fast paced skill-stop game which we have released to the Android Market...

There arn't many screen shots at the moment as there seems to be an issue which BatVink is looking into for me, thanks! However, the link to the Android Market is working if anyone fancies giving it a go...

Future update will be a global leader board once the HTTP commands are available... Any comments/suggestions welcome!

I noticed there are a few submissions that I cannot submit at the moment because they have no images associated with them. This may happen if you attempt to upload anything other than jpg files. This will be fixed in the future, but in the meantime please ensure you use jpgs for your images.

I submitted by mistake PNG images for my App-In-Ball app in the gallery (except preview). I have converted them in JPG using paint, and I have re-submitted the app to the gallery. Sorry for the incovenience.

Apologies for the problems that some of you have encountered with the gallery. There is some problem that exists with the image uploads and in some cases certain entries get submitted without any associated images. This can happen if you use a PNG or BMP when uploading. Please ensure you use JPGs for your images. If your entry hasn't appeared please login to the gallery, go to the edit button and see whether the images are present. If they are not try uploading them again.

At the time of setting up the gallery I didn't really know a great deal about PHP and SQL, so some things are not ideal. It will be corrected, but right now there's so many other things going on that means I can't attend to it just yet.

Well at least there is a simple fix, just use JPG which makes files smaller ^ faster to download than pngs!
